Tax Advisor

Responsibilities

  • Work with the tax department to prepare and review tax returns
  • Provide timely, high quality customer service
  • Recognize and identify opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
  • Handle client tax questions, and work with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience: 3+ years in Public Accounting with an emphasis in taxation
  • Tax forms:  1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, payroll tax forms, and the Maryland Personal Property Tax Return
  • Knowledge of CCH ProSystem FX, Quickbooks
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task without error
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to work accurately & efficiently under pressure with tight deadlines
    • Strong verbal & written communication skills; able to clearly explain to clients on the status of their accounts and related items

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation and tax return review
  • Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm a plus
  • Masters of Taxation preferred, but not required
  • CPA Designation preferred, but not required
  • EA Designation preferred, but not required
  • Certified Financial Planner, preferred, but not required
