Responsibilities
- Work with the tax department to prepare and review tax returns
- Provide timely, high quality customer service
- Recognize and identify opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
- Handle client tax questions, and work with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Experience: 3+ years in Public Accounting with an emphasis in taxation
- Tax forms: 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, payroll tax forms, and the Maryland Personal Property Tax Return
- Knowledge of CCH ProSystem FX, Quickbooks
- Skills: Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task without error
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work accurately & efficiently under pressure with tight deadlines
- Strong verbal & written communication skills; able to clearly explain to clients on the status of their accounts and related items
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation and tax return review
- Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm a plus
- Masters of Taxation preferred, but not required
- CPA Designation preferred, but not required
- EA Designation preferred, but not required
- Certified Financial Planner, preferred, but not required
